Hey guys! So today I have another instalment of A Blogger
Interview With…
Introduce Yourself..
What's your name?
Hello! My name is Anita J
What is your blog's name?
All Things Anita
What is your
blog about?
I tend to call it a Beauty and Lifestyle blog, but really
it’s a huge dose of beauty and a dash of lifestyle mixed in every so often.
What is
your favourite thing about blogging?
I love that my blog is my little corner of the internet
to talk about my thoughts and opinions on beauty products & life in
general. It’s amazing how far I’ve come from thinking that little to no one
will be interested in what I have to say! The blogging community is brilliant
as well, with any queries/concerns being attended to within minutes of posting
the subject on targeted Twitter trends such as #bbloggers #fblchat and
#tbloggers.
And
your least favourite thing?
My least favourite thing would be that when you’re new to
blogging some can get really worked up with regards to comparing themselves to
other bloggers/bloggers who have “made it”. It really doesn’t matter whether
you have 1 follower or 1000 – at the end of the day we’re all human, and I just
wish some people would relax about it and focus on being themselves, making
their blog their own.
The
Questions...
What is
your favourite kind of makeup product to wear?
My favourite would have to be base makeup as I’ve always
had problematic skin and it’s really just one of those things I use makeup to
conceal.. rather than to enhance. I feel that if my face as a whole looks good
even without the common must-have mascara, I’m ready to face [no pun intended]
the world with confidence!
The
world is ending soon and you are only allowed to repurchase 5 makeup/beauty
products. What would they be?
My holy grail is a good coverage concealer, so I think it
would have to be Illamasqua’s Cream Concealer; next would be Elizabeth Arden’s
Eight Hour Cream, which is a cult beauty product that I could use pretty much
anywhere on my body so it’s bound to come in handy; and finally if you’re
making the effort to look nice, you should at least smell clean/fresh – so
deodorant/body spray would be ideal and for that I’d choose Dove Green Tea and
Cucumber deodorant which smells absolutely amazing.
What
products do you swear by?
To be honest, I don’t have specific branded products I
have to have in my routine, although in general I would say a good oil-based
makeup remover is essential to ensure that my skin is free of makeup
particularly on nights where I’m too tired to cleanse my face properly and want
to climb into bed as soon as possible.
I guess I also swear by waterproof mascara formulas as
they’re seemingly ones that would work with my extremely stubborn Asian lashes
which point downwards and refuse to hold curl.
Do you
like to repurchase your favourites or keep trying new things?
Despite the contrary of being a “beauty blogger”, I don’t
actually find myself being sucked into the latest releases in the beauty
section of department stores and drugstores. So for this I’d say I tend to
repurchase my favourites, but would try a new product if the one I’ve just used
up didn’t do a good job.
What
makeup/ beauty products are currently on your wish list?
Currently I have a couple of skincare products on the
back of my mind I’d like to purchase after I complete my Project 5 Pan – La
Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +; Real Techniques Kabuki Brush and Dr. Organic’s
Snail Gel as well as a few more are patiently sitting on the shelf of shops for
me to pick them up.
How
would you describe your style?
I don’t really have a style to be honest.. I’m not one to
follow trends so I just stick to basics.
What
item in your wardrobe could you not live without?
My fluffy sleeping socks. I love love love sleeping socks
and could wear them all year round!
Do you
prefer to splurge on one item or buy lots of items with the money you have?
Both, if I’m 101% sure after lots of thorough research
that I will love a particular product forever I will be willing to splurge on
it. However, I am, but I’m also not that picky with beauty products so I’ll
choose the latter for things such as lip stick and eyeliner.
Any
style icons?
Nope, I tend not to follow trends J
What
fashion/accessory pieces are currently on your wish list?
I’m not into fashion.. and I can’t go clothes shopping to
save my life! So I’m not the best person to ask in terms of fashion advice..
What is
your favourite type of blog posts to write? Beauty, fashion or lifestyle?
Probably beauty as I’m hopeless at fashion, and lifestyle
is more subjective than beauty in my opinion.
The Extra
Few...
If you
could have any blogger guest post on your blog, who would it be and why?
I can’t think of any bloggers I’d like in particular to
guest post on my blog – anyone would be welcome!
If you
could go anywhere with anyone in the world, where and who would you go with?
I really don’t mind where in the world, as long as I’m
with my boyfriend it all that matters! Sounds so cheesy, but he’s amazing and
anywhere, everywhere doesn’t matter as long as we’re together as we’re 430
miles apart and I only get to see him in person every 10 weeks or so L
Any
books you are currently reading or wanting to read?
I’m currently reading The Hobbit, by JRR Tolkien, I’m not
a huge fan of the LOTR series but this seems to be a good sequel.
Describe
your typical day
I’m in full time education so a huge chunk would be
attending college, then to return home in the evening to do some artwork and
finally relaxing/blogging!
When
you are not blogging, what would we find you doing?
Probably sketching or watching a film.. or researching a
[new] beauty product I’m considering purchasing!
What
are your most favourite posts to write?
Admittedly, not really reviews – although I love taking
photos for them. I don’t think I have a favourite type of post I enjoy writing,
actually.
Have you/do you ever want to start a YouTube channel? If so, what kind
of videos would you post?
Long before I started to blog properly I
attempted to upload videos on YouTube but I have always tried and failed, it’s
hard to explain why but I just can’t see myself being a YouTuber! I think I’m
more of a Blogger.
What
opportunities has blogging brought you?
It’s been amazing to physically meet girls of my age and
upwards – and to put faces behind blogs, it was a surreal moment when I
realised last week when I attended my first blogging event to meet those who
also blog about beauty.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself or something your readers don’t
already know about you.
I wouldn’t say that I’m addicted, but
I’m near enough glued to social media and the internet for at least 16 hours a
day.. which is unhealthy. But hey, at least I’m doing something productive out
of it by running a blog instead of endless hours of browsing through tumblr..
