Pretty Little Thing review

I hope you have all had a great start to 2018. And if not, you have so many more days of opportunities to come your way.

Today, I thought I would do something a little bit different and give a review of a brand. With the sales season still amongst us (the sales have been killer this year) I made a little order from pretty little thing. With this brand, I had never even bothered browsing through because I knew things wouldn’t fit me the way I would want things to and I am not like the stick thin models they use to advertise their clothes.

But I recently discovered that they had launched a plus size selection. Although not that big, I did end up finding some really nice things that I liked the look of. I was initially sceptical because I wasn’t sure what the quality or the sizing would be like, but I went based off how the model looked in it as I had seen them on websites like ASOS.

This is the first and only sale item I actually purchased as I said, the collection isn’t big yet. But it’s a wet look faux leather tube skirt. When it came, it felt a lot cheaper than it did online and had less structure but was a really nice comfortable fit. However, this is probably my least favourite thing just because of how it feels

I then ordered a pair of trousers because I am still not loving jeans, but I loved that the stripe were horizontal/vertical (I never know which one) but they are the way that slim you and elongate your legs. I love this item and I think it will be a great all year-round piece which is a practical addition to my wardrobe

Finally, I got this self-love t shirt because self-love is important. I loved the Gucci vibes to it, not that that’s all I want from clothing, but it reminded me of a tiger t shirt I got from ASOS a while back. I loved that it was a little more muted than other designs I had seen and was a nice graphic t. Really thick quality t-shirt too. My only thing is I wish I had got it in a bigger size just because I like my things really oversized.

Overall, I am really happy with my order and would deffo do it again but as a seasonal thing just because I think that’s how I see the collection changing. Its very comparable to boohoo in that I think some of it can be a hit and miss, pricing is very similar and if you shop boohoo plus size, you will be the same size for PLT.

I hope you guys enjoyed the post and let me know if you have purchased things from PLT. I think this might be a new fave store of mine.

My new favourite shop

Since coming to china, I have done a weeny bit of shopping. I made a friend out here and she took us to some of her favourite places out here. And I took her to one that I already knew existed but had never actually ventured out to the dedicated store. And as I stepped in, I fell in love. This shop is Monki.

You’re probably thinking how have you never shopped at Monki and it has always been one of those places in the back of my mind that I’ve wanted to check out but never got around too.

There is a little something for everyone there to playing it safe, keeping it comfy and casual, being a little more daring and denim for days. I picked up some really different pieces for me which I am hoping you will get to see on the blog very soon but this has been one of my go to outfits so far.

On my second trip there, I put this dress down because I wasn’t 100% sure it was my style but I love how cute and preppy this feels. The cut out shoulder detailing adds a little edge, tied in with my very worn Adidas trainers. For me, the dress does all the talking and I kept my accessories to the bare minimum. Plus, china is bloody hot and more accessories make me feel like I am suffocating.

The sizes are really forgiving so caters for all those curvy ladies too. My new favourite store and I hope I will like it as much when I get back to the UK.

Fashion 101: Stuck in a rut?

Fashion as always been something I have loved and budget shopping to me is even better. I love physically going into shops and browsing everything. I do my fair share of online shopping because usually what I want is online and I especially love it for sale stuff. (shout out to New Look who has all of my money)

I am at this age where I walk in and pick up things and I’m like crap I’m too old to wear this or crap I’m too young to wear this. The in-between stages as I’ve named it. I feel like I have to dress my age so some parts of H&M are a no go but at the same time, work wear is not my attire.
So I thought I would share with you how I have incorporated my love back into this difficult period of my life. I simply went back to basics.

Basic t shirts can be the epitome of effortless. When paired with the right staples it is easy to go from a day to night outfit.

Denim doesn’t just have to be jeans. This oversized denim jacket is great to throw on with anything without it making you look 2x the size

Although blazers are notorious for its formality, it can actually be some something quite casual during the day. With jeans and a t shirt, a slightly oversized blazer can add a little structure

Graphic tees are not just for kids and they are great to throw on for one of those “popping to the shops” moments. I mean who isn’t loving a sewed on patch these days

The off the shoulder look has taken the world by storm. I’m quite partial to ones with straps. With a little embroidered detail, it’s a great way to spruce up an outfit

I have actually fallen head over heels in love with jumpsuits. So easy to throw on with no fuss. Pair with heels or trainers for a great transitional outfit piece.

After my trip from Thailand I have only wanted to wear trousers and not jeans. They give a nice relaxed tailored look without it being too formal for everyday casual attire

These trainers and heels I always talk about. Well here they are

Going for something basic in neutral and easily styled colours helps introduce a starting palette to your wardrobe.
Adding colour with accessories is a great way to go if you are more of a neutral dresser. It can breathe a little life in to any outfit.

So that’s how I’ve been hacking my brain around my fashion style recently. To this day it’s still growing and evolving and I’ve bought more clothes than I care to admit to accommodate for that. Final tip: don't be afraid of incorporating some of your summer wardrobe into your autumn one. that's why we have this beautiful trend of layering. But also i cant afford that many new clothes.

Haul Time | Video

Whilst I keep you guys hanging on just that little bit longer for a update post, I present you with a new video. It is the oh so frequent haul video. I should probably cut down on my spending but will I really ever learn?
This one is slightly over due so I am dishing it up to you guys now and taking a break on them until the next big bank account damaging shop. Brace yourselves.
Until then enjoy :)

The Sunday Post : 2 weeks of bliss

Its back, I’m back, holy chic is back. And this is the first post of April. I have really been slacking on all ends of everything really but here is the low down on what I have been doing this Easter break and a little bit before that

First off, I must say I have really been enjoying the warmer weather spring has greeted us with. My skin as soaked it all up and basked in its warmth for sure. It also means you have another little friend tagging along with you – the shadow. But if the sun ain’t there, I am for sure inside and recently I have been browsing for more youtubers to watch. New ones can be a breath of fresh air but also great inspo for the mind and blog.

In other news, I passed my theory test. Why I am so overjoyed about this is 10 mins prior to taking it, I did a mock on at home and it said I would have failed (miserably) so super stoked about that. My test will be real soon, once I have money in the bank J

Something a little sneaky I also did was go on HOLIDAY! It was so nice to escape for a week and enjoy some music and just simply relax and unwind. Although it did interfere with Easter revision, it was hella worth it. I have a vlog all about it (yes a vlog can you believe it) coming tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled.

Being the television addict that I am, I finally came to the end of Gossip Girl which was so sad. It’s kinda obvious who it is all along but I still loved it soo much. I then watched and finished Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Do I have a problem? This show is another winner in my books and now I need something new to watch. Any suggestions for me?

The revision this break has been pretty much a no show but that just means I gotta work a little harder and a revision plan is in order. I hope I have this figured out like my brain seems to be reassuring me I do.

Breaking the bank seems to have also been in order this half term and I call this the rack of basics. It includes the beloved stripes, bland colours and my sixth form dinner dress might be hiding on there J a haul is coming soon DO NOT WORRY J along with the warmer weather, I have been using my Zara bag religiously as it is just my spring essential *hint hint* right now. I also dug out an old lipstick of mine from Collection’s gothic glam collection in Revenge 3 and I just loved it with my green checked shirt.

And to top it all off, I have been doing a tonne of filming, editing and picture taking. So much that I don’t think my laptop can handle it anymore and I may invest in the software soon. Super excited. Look out for new videos and vlogs soon

So there is the overdue ramble for ya. Next week will be spring week. A little late to the game but I still wanted to share some things with you. There will also be a vlog, another new sit down video and that lush haul and review you have been eager to find out about.

I now need to go and sort my life out before I get totally screwed over tomorrow at school. Hope you all had a fab Easter while it lasted and have a great week.
Love you all x

The Sunday Post: First steps into my future

I know what you’re thinking. 3 lifestyle posts in a row?!?! I know I know. This was for sure not my intention and although I love writing these kinds of posts, I think I have showered you enough with them for the time being. I shall return to the weekly updates when necessary because overload is a possible thing.

But you know what; it has been a crazy week which all began with an extra day off. Yes, staff training days are bliss and I lay around all day and basked in its glory. The icing on the cake was a new short film by Bertie Gilbert that landed in my subscription box. I cannot explain that films amazingness so watch it for yourself here.

I was even sporting a new hairstyle throughout the week, browsed ASOS more times than the amount of fingers I have, they released racially diverse emojis (apparently) and I uploaded a new video. That’s right, a new video which is for your eyes only here. I told you it was a jam packed week.

I might have also found myself on the Thompsons flight page and booked a little getaway coming up as well as my theory test so I can get my ass in a car and on the road asap! (Well there isn’t that much of a rush J). The last episode of Death in Paradise for the year hit screens on Thursday and when I hit the 8th episode, my heart always drops. I have such a soft spot for that show.

I guess to wrap this post up, I will mention my trip to Brighton yesterday and I saw a glimpse into my future that is to come. I am so thoroughly happy right now with things coming together and I can only wait patiently and excitedly for the time to dawn. It will be a trip to remember for sure. And I went with the greatest person of all time so that just makes everything better. But the weather was pure shiet! But to make up for that, my friend and I took an impromptu trip into LUSH, which you will be seeing all about in an upcoming post (I hope I have successfully kept you in suspense). You will all be kept in the loop of what is going on in the next couple of months but I won’t overshare because I don’t need to do that J

I hope you all had a great week and here is to March, the start of spring. (Like seriously WTF, it was like Christmas yesterday)

Let's Rewind

With an unfortunate skip on the Sunday post and being a little MIA on pretty much all of social media, I make my return today. I basically drowned in the bliss of half term and an extra day off thanks to staff training days. But I was sure not to fill you in just a little into the ventures of last week. (Well the key parts)
Aside from not doing any work, first and foremost, I made a trip up to Leeds with one of my good friends. I wanted to check out the university and we gave ourselves plenty of time to explore and get a feel for the surrounding area. And I must say I fell head over heels for it and I was close to abandoning good old London just to absorb its beauty a little longer. I did a little bit of shopping and you will be happy to know that I bumped it all in a haul and filmed it for you. Enjoy my loves J

I guess that really is the only big thing I did during my hectic half term. Through the lazy days, the driving lessons and a spot of filming and editing, I might as well squeeze a few more of my latest captures in this post.
I don’t want to bore you with me detailing maybe even to the day what I got up to but let’s just say, some of these things will be featured in blog posts soon, it’s in my most recent video or I was simply just lying down in my bed doing none other than watching television. And how could PANCAKE DAY have almost slipped my mind?!? Let’s just say, the pancake fairy ate 12 pancakes all to herself and refused to share ;)

Apart from feeling a little guilty for not even taking a peek at my school work, I think with blogging I might have hit a bump in the road. I know that this iddy biddy corner of the internet is not where I want it to be and I am hoping that by summer I can change that a little with a proper blog design and business cards. But I also feel unfulfilled. Or maybe the word is unsuccessful. I don’t feel I have accomplished much. i know you shouldn’t compare but how many followers you have or events that people go to but I intend to use this as constructive and up my game even more. It’s a big world and I am sure the blogging community can make a little more room for me.
