Christmas run down + New Year's Outfit ideas | Holy Chic

Hey guys!
I sorry that this post is uploaded a lot later that scheduled but things came up that I had no way of getting out of J

So I cannot believe that Christmas is over. The day just seemed to go by soo quickly and I just hate that about some days that you really want to cherish. But it’s all done now and it’s time to look forward to the New Year and of course the sales. But that isn’t the most important thing, don’t you wonderful people forget that.

So today I am just going to cram everything Christmassy into this one mega blog post from my OOTD to preparation to presents and what I look like with a food baby. (Lol I’m kidding I don’t think I will share by food baby with you guys. You’re not all ready for that yet.) I did have a huge food baby though!

So that I don’t waffle on because I am really likely to at this point, I will just get straight into it but first (contradiction) sorry this wasn’t up yesterday but it was just way to hectic in my house for me to even leave the kitchen to make an attempt to write this post for you so here I am going it right now boxing day before I have to run out of the house again! YAY!

May the Christmas run down begin!
My Christmas tree which I decorated all by myself! (So proud!)
I painted my nails the night before
here i used No7’s nail paint in Temptress and Oh My Gem by Miss Sporty in 001
I laid the table all by myself. Its tradition in my house to lay the table like this every year and to use the finest china, silverware and glasses.
This was the best picture of my eye makeup that I could get. Apologies. I just did a gold shadow all over with some winged liquid eyeliner, mascara and eyeliner to finish the look off. The products I used are shown in the picture below.

This post wouldn’t be complete without a selfie. This is me on Christmas day. I wore a floral skater dress from Forever 21 which I cannot find on line but it was around £12. My hair was in an up do from second day curls. (My 1am curling idea didn’t go to plan so this is what my hair resulted to. I think finished it off with some black tights from asda and some fluffy socks.
And these are the presents I got however some changes are bang made to them so read carefully. I got a onsie, a tablet which I am returning. DO NOT BUY THE HP SLATE 7 TABLET! It sucks and lots of apps don’t work on it. I am trading it in when I next go out to the shops. I also got a kindle which I love because I am the biggest moaner of the price, thickness and weight of books. This solved all my problems. I also got a pair of converses which I am also taking back because they are way too big for me. And I also got some money and an H&M voucher.

I am honestly so grateful and thankful for all of my gifts and couldn’t be happier with them. A really great Christmas for me.

What did you guys get?
Was it something you wanted?
Let me know in the comments
J

So I hope you guys enjoyed this mega long Christmas run don post. I hope you guys had an amazing Christmas. I didn’t do this post to brag about anything but it was highly requested so I thought I can’t deprive you guys off of this post.

I didn’t properly do this but it is actually the sad and bitter sweet end of Blogmas. I really had so much fun doing it even though I didn’t get that many blogmas posts uploaded. Next year, I will make it my mission to blog everyday (please don’t hold me to that as it is in like a years’ timeJ) but I will do it bigger and better next year.

I have so many amazing things coming up for you guys this next year with new features and themes of months/days/weeks and I just want to go big or go home next year. 2014 will definitely be the year for bloggers.

So this is the last post of the year guys! 2013 was amazing and probably January 2nd when I will start the first themed posts of the month and I will begin reviewing 2013 and all that kinds of fun stuff so follow to stay tuned for that :)

I hope you guys have an amazing rest of your time on holiday/halfterm/whatever you may be doing, and have a great new year and stay positive. Forget what happened in 2013 and look forward to the things coming your way in 2014.

I am actually so happy for 2014 to come and I am going to try my hardest to make it my year and i hope that it turns out to be the best year for you too J
one last thing before I go for 2013. I really need your help in deciding which dress I should wear for my new years eve party. pick from the two pictures displayed below.

(From Left to Right) Here I have a grey speckled dress and a black skater dress with a bow on the top

(From Left to Right) Or should I go floral, tie die and Aztec, green, black sheen or a navy lace play suit

Winter Wonderland Tag! | Blogmas #5 | Holy Chic

Hey guys!
So today I am going to be doing Blogmas #5 post and it is going to be another tag post! You guys seem to really like the tag posts that I have been doing so I have done another one for you today. I am going to be doing the Winter Wonderland tag which has been around for ages but I don’t think it gets that much attention so I am bringing it to light today.

Question 1. Favourite thing about winter
my favourite thing has to be Christmas and the New Year. I don’t like winter that much especially the cold weather. It drives me crazy. But Christmas and New Year is a great time to gather round with the family and just to spend some quality time with them

Question 2. Scarves or beanies
I would have to say scarves. Now this is difficult because I love them both but when I wear beanies, I like to wear them all day and because I can’t do that at school, I just have been shying away from them but scarves I have been wearing a lot this winter.

Question 3. Favourite Christmas movie
everyone says elf which is true. It’s an amazing Christmas film but I also love The Holiday and Four Christmases

Question 4. Favourite winter nail polish
I have two. Sorry. You must know by now that I am terrible at being decisive. First is a No7 stay perfect nail polish in Temptress. This is the perfect autumnal/winter berry colour and just looks amazing on the nails. And secondly is the Miss Sporty Metal Flip nail polish in 040. This is the perfect oil slick/dual chrome nail paint and if any of you know who Clothes Encounters is aka Jen Im, this is literally her in nail polish form. So cool!

Question 5. Favourite Starbucks Christmas drink
I haven’t been to Starbucks at all yet this winter which is terrible but I do love their Gingerbread Latte. I love ginger so this is the perfect drink for me.

Question 6. What are your top three winter essentials?
1. A lip balm of any kind- you have to keep your lips as moisturised and as hydrated as possible
2. A hand cream- your hands can get so dry and it’s just best to keep them moisturised
3. Perfume- weird to you? Well there’s no harm in having a little stronger scent lingering on you to overpower the coldness of this time of year

Question 7. Name one item on your wish list this year
a laptop. I know I am not going to get it like for definite but I like to blog at the most random times or do homework at the most random times and that is why I wanted one so I could keep all of my blogging stuff in one place but hey, there is always next year and my birthday to ask.

Question 8. Favourite Christmas song
All I want for Christmas by Mariah Carey- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXQViqx6GMY

Last Christmas b Ariana Grande- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReK9MVrOq0w

Fairytale of New York by the Pouges- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9jbdgZidu8

Santa Baby- Ariana Grande and Liz Gillies-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPYiwVGQBik

Snow in California by Ariana Grande- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56I9SjJWcEc

(I thought I would through in some newbies in there to mix it up a bit.) I love like all the traditional Christmas songs that they play on the radio like every year but those are just my top five at the moment.

Question 9. Must have winter lip product
lip balm. I am not the biggest fan of lipsticks and lip glosses so I just like to keep my lips natural, moisturised and hydrated.

Question 10. Will you be rocking an ugly Christmas jumper this year?
No. I really hate them and I just can’t justify spending money on something so ugly and that i will only wear probably once a year.

Question 11. Must have winter fashion item
knit jumper. I have just been wearing those like all winter and have just been a must have in my wardrobe this winter.

Question 12. Have you ever had a white Christmas where you live
well yes and no. One year we had like second day snowy day so it was kind of white outside but also had turned to slush in the roads. But for the most part, no we don’t have whit Christmases in England. The weather is so off and some will come between January and March time.

Question 13. Favourite winter candle scent
I don’t really burn candles that much but any yankee candle will do me just fine

Question 14. How will you be celebrating Christmas this year?
My family comes round, we all stuff our faces, and then we open our presents together around the table and then usually just watch some movies after. I love this little tradition that we have created for ourselves

Okay guys that is it, that us the end of the Winter Wonderland tag! I hope you guys enjoyed it.

I'm not going to tag anybody in particular but if you would like to do it, go ahead and tweet me the links so I can read your responses.

I have two questions of the day. One being what will you be wearing on Christmas day? And another being, do you ever browse through tumbler and wonder where the heck some of the outfits/clothing items are from? Let me know in the comments section or tweet me using the hash tag #BlogmaswithHolyChic.

I love you guys and thanks for stopping by and reading J

Winter Berry Wars | Lipstick Review | Blogmas #4 | Holy Chic

Hey guys!

So I don’t normally do reviews nor do I normally talk about lipsticks on my blog but hey, it’s good to try new things right?! J

Today I am going to be giving a review of the Collection Gothic Glam Lipstick and the MUA matte lipstick. Now before I go any further, I am fully aware that one is matte and the other one isn’t and that they are bound to be very different but they are similar in colour so I thought I would share my opinion anyways.
so these are just an overall picture of the two lipsticks that I will be reviewing for you today.

So I am going to start with the MUA lipstick

So this is in the colour Wild Berry and as I stated before, it is a matte lipstick and at the price of £1.99. I had read reviews about this before I purchased it and most of them seemed to be good so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try it out for myself. But unfortunately I wasn’t impressed at all with this lipstick. The colour isn’t buildable at all which is even more annoying because it applies very weakly (if that makes any sense) and the colour pay off is pretty poor. I don’t even think that the colour is that matte but I will let you be the judge of that. (sorry in advance for the awkward pictures of the lips. I had to do picture taking the day I wasn't well. it was the only available time for me to do it)

I will say that I didn't find that it was very drying which is a good thing but it doesn’t last that long on the lips and I didn't find it was that smooth to apply on the lips. I know that it is a matte lipstick and it looks that way in the tube but doesn’t impresses me on the lips.

Okay so now I will move on to the Collection lipstick in Revenge 3  and I think this one was £2.99. I was in Superdrug one day and thought I would treat myself to it.

So I preferred this one a lot more. I felt that it was a lot easier to apply and the colour pay off was so much better

This lipstick is really smooth and quite a creamy lipstick and not drying like the matte one. But once again I don’t think it lasts that long on the lips and can kind of get a bit messy. But other than that, the lipstick was good and I would recommend it. Plus the packaging is really cute and I’m a bit of a sucker for cool packaging.

So here are just some pictures of them side by side so you can see a little comparison for yourself. (on the left is the MUA lipstick and on the right is the Collection lipstick)

So I have you tried either of those lipsticks? Let me know your thoughts in the commentsJ

So I hope you guys enjoyed this post and if you like reviews or want to see me do more of these in the future, let me know because I would be happy to!
