The Amazon Bargain

Now I know here in England summer is basically over but I thought I still wanted to throw this little post in and it might actually be useful to those of you all year round sunglasses wearers.

I had been eyeing up these cat eye style sunglasses for a while on amazon and at only a whopping £2.44 (or something along those lines) I thought let me just order them and give them a whirl. About 6 weeks later I then owned the black and brown pair which cost me under a fiver for the both.

They are flattering yet chic on my face shape as well as being as well as having the potential to be a statement piece for a simple outfit. Only thing they do take a little while to come and they are constructed on the smaller side so I would say if you have a wider head, maybe these aren’t the best for you but at such a low price, there is no harm in trying right?

ASOS have the same in white which Amazon don’t have but I kid you not they are identical to the amazon version: http://www.asos.com/Reclaimed-Vintage/Reclaimed-Vintage-Cat-Eye-Sunglasses

Sunset : Photography #2

As autumn and winter fades away, don’t let your dreams get taken with it. Let them dawn in the horizons of spring and summer. Let them flourish in the changing seasons. If your vision gets blurry, refocus on what matters.

Puma : OOTD

Now if you saw my post a little bit ago where I shared with you my favourite hairstyles, you may have been wondering what I was wearing. Well fear no more, I’ve got you covered. This is an outfit that I have been wearing a little too much recently, some may say, because it is the comfort of pyjamas but the look of ‘oh you tried this morning’. And when you have all your lessons that day, an outfit like this is what you want for sure. Not also to mention the versatility of the turtle neck. Whether it be smart or casual, day or night, this bloody thing just looks damn good with everything. But with this bitterly cold whether that has hit us recently, it allows me to stay warm.

Now ootds are something I have wanted to do properly since I started this little corner on the internet and I am so happy I can do them for you guys now and I intend on improving even more with them.

Outfit snippets #4 | Holy Chic

I’m back, this post is back and I intend to do more you know if the weather stops being poopy and freezing. Let’s cut the chit chat yeah?

I must warn you though, for this outfit snippets I went a little overboard with the photography so consider this my outfit snippets photoshoot and I promise they won’t be this long again J

Today I went for the all black look and I wore a black v neck t shirt, black skinny jeans (Primark) and the good old black converses. Thought I would put a teeny bit of colour back into it with my chunky knit scarf from new look and my dark grey hoodie from Primark. I then had my school bag from H&M and rings from Primark. Can you tell that I love Primark?

I did all of this while I had 4 hours spare time so I think that it why I experimented a little more but I hope you like it and I hope this gave you some outfit inspiration

But that is not all my friends. if this was not enough for you, I have three more outfit ideas for you guys over on my youtube channel. send me some love and check out the vid: http://youtu.be/Vj33iEXHpSI

Outfit snippets #3 | Holy Chic

You guys seem to love these post, I actually have a lot of fun photographing them particularly when I have lots of frees during the day. So here it is, outfit snippets #3 (p.s. I’m sorry this is quite short)

The cosiest jumper I have ever worn was so reasonably priced at £6 from Primark and is the perfect transitional item, Primark jeans, my trusty black converses and my oversized black hoodie. A real autumnal outfit in my opinion especially because my jumper is that army green colour.

Tell me your thoughts on the outfits below

Is your food Instagram worthy? | Holy Chic

Food. Idealised and cherished. Something we all need to eat to survive. Something that people love. Something where all the good stuff is bad for you and all the bad stuff is good for you. Something that there are lots of different recopies to create the ever so desired food. But when you put the word instagram in front of the word food, Google is bound to give you very different results.

There seems to be something about making your food more instagram worthy. From recipes on YouTube to the food dedicated instagram accounts. There seems to be something so tasty and nice looking about healthy food on Instagram with immaculate presentation.

If you think about it, putting up a picture of your McDonalds is not as appealing as some of the pictures of like a water melon fruit bowl. (I must admit, sometimes a picture of a whole pizza makes my mouth water) but sometimes, I crave the healthy stuff. Like avocado with egg and black pepper on a slice of toast or a salad with feta cheese and tomatoes. Just look at it. Sometimes it’s even juices that look more appealing than a can of coke.

So is social media giving society a test, or moulding the types of food we upload to instagram or any social media site for that matter? Are you guilty of uploading your food because it was instagrammable? Or is it only healthy food that makes the instagram worthy list?

I wanna know your thoughts below

Outfit snippets #2 | Holy Chic

Surprisingly (to me), I got such lovely feedback from my outfit snippets #1 post so I took it upon myself to do it again. Hopefully one day I will be able to picture complete outfits  but for now, I hope this is a great teaser for you.

I was in a skirt mood that day and with the weather only being brisk, it seemed fitting. I paired a tube skirt from H&M with a fine knit green jumper also from H&M which I had lusted over for months. I then completed my look with my go to black converses (battered but loved to death – literally) and my oversized black hoodie.

Tell me your thoughts on the look below and more of these posts are coming :) keep your eyes peeled

Day to Night look | Holy Chic

I seem to be slipping up on the amount of fashion posts I have been doing recently but with autumn pretty much here, or round the corner, I wanted to share with you how you could take a pair of trousers and a watch, yes, a watch, an make them both suitable for day and night. I would say they are autumn approved too J

So here is the look

Night: H&M Trousers / River Island Heels / New Look Clutch / Topshop Crop Top / New Look Watch / River Island Duster Coat
You can’t really go wrong with a pair of tailored/fitted trousers that are a staple for autumn this year. I kept them casual with a plaid shirt which is the nation’s favourite, some comfy flat sneakers and a black backpack. I then accessorised with the gold watch. This I think would be suitable for a long day out of running errands or exploring.
Onto the night look, taking the trousers and watch, I paired it with some chunky berry heels as this shade of red is a must for the autumn and is a great transitional colour between seasons. I also put it with a black crop top, a clutch with some berry peeking out and the oversized duster coat for added flair. The outfit I think would look great with or without the coat and is suitable for more formal functions or a girl’s night out.

I hope this gave you some inspiration into how to make the most out of key items for this autumn and let me know if you prefer the day or night look J

Haul : BTS | Holy Chic

With the numerous wishlists I have been posting recently, you didn’t think I went the whole time without picking up a few things did you?

Well fear not, this haul is for you. I didn’t pick up the greatest amount of things because full time unpaid sixth form student but I picked up a few things I felt were a necessity for my wardrobe.

I love my jeans and t shirts because they are comfortable and easy to wear. Cardigans are my holy grail item and a must have item for me and the dress was kind of just for fun but I wanted a more school appropriate dress. You feel me? I also picked up some H&M joggers because they are the bomb.com!

And as an added bonus, because this is kind of a back to school haul, I picked up some school supply essentials and a hair product because, sometimes, you have to restock on a few things.

Have you picked up anything in stores recently?

Have a great day

Wishlist #2 | Holy Chic

I have been a crazy scroller through the internet lady lately and I found even more things that I wanted to add to my wishlist. I am literally trying so hard to not go mad and buy everything but that’s why I share some of this pain with you guys.

River Island chunky T bar shoes / River Island Check Shirt / River Island Reform Jeans  / Topshop Floral Dress / New Look Lace Up Boots / New Look Chunky Heeled Boots / New Look A Line Mini Skirt / H&M Loafers / Zara Striped Dress / Nixon Watch / New Look Knit Cardigan / Topshop Skater Skirt

Like in wishlist #1, I have a very simple wearable style and because I had back to school in mind at the time, I knew that with these few pieces, I could come up with a few weeks’ worth of outfits. I like to keep it simple allowing me to dress pieces up or down and mix and match them with existing items in my wardrobe.

If you were looking for clothes inspiration I hope this helped J

Have a great day
